One Last Kiss-Off

Last Spring, then-DA Mike Green antagonized the Democratic hierarchy by refusing to step down from office, to permit Chairman Joe Morelle's choice for DA, Judge Frank Geraci, to be apppointed to the vacancy and run in November as an incumbent.

For the Party the story ended happily.   Candidate Sandra Doorley won big and appears willing to work reasonably closely with Chairman Morelle and Party HQ.

Then came payback, with Morelle pulling the rug from under Green's nomination for federal judge.   It wasn't for the sake of vindictiveness alone.   Although public discussion has focused on City Court Judge Theresa Johnson as replacement nominee, an alternate possibility now being discussed is ... Judge Frank Geraci.   It would be one final kiss-off from Chairman Morelle to Green.

A cosmic, nearly mathematical, symmetry.   Green blocked Geraci from getting the DA job Morelle wanted Geraci to have.   Now Geraci would get what Green described as his "dream job."   Green loses the judgship and Chairman Morelle can advance the career of Geraci, something Green prevented last year.

Don't be surprised to see now-County Court Judge Geraci, who is widely respected among lawyers and judges, as our next federal judge.

One does not defy Chairman Morelle with impunity.

I thought that Gerace was nearing retirement age for Judge's? That's why they wanted him to become DA? Either way, Sandy and Mike are both political hacks. Any news on what brilliant team Doorley has put together for her office? I am curious to see just how political her supposedly "political free" office is. There have been plenty of shady dealings protecting otherwise terminatable actions of the precious offspring of the politically connected under Doorely's watch under Green. Now that's she's in charge... it is apparantly going to run rampant. So much for honesty and integrity in our prosecutor's office. What happened to the "white hat" of justice? This office is all about power and political careers and how to get ahead with no regard for safety of the community or prosecuting the truly guilty. It is disheartening that the District Attorney's Office has turned in to such a political machine, rather than doing the job it should be doing.

You should have heard Mike Green and Howard Relin talking about how Sandy's office will be non-political at her swearing in ceremony on Friday. Even Duffy talked about how non-partisan her office is.

As for Adam Bello, does Diana Palotas know she will be out of a job?

Sounds like Morele took a page from your old pal Steve Minarik. Now maybe you see how it looks from the outside.

We're on the outside of both parties. If your point is that this is the sort of thing party chairmen do sometimes, no argument from us.

Anonymous #2... I wonder if Sandy will have Palotas write her own press release when she is canned?

Isn't it kind of the local media to keep this whole Bello-political hiring under wraps for the Democrat Party?

Not even faux-Conservative Bob Lonsberry is pounding Doorley over this.

That's because Bob is a die-hard, Democrat loving, CINO.

Tip for Mustard Street. Mike Green has been hired by Doorley to be Chief of Appeals. He is on the payroll, even though he publicly said he was leaving government service. No media reporting on this as of yet.

Gee, another LIE told by Mike Green and Sandra Doorley. Shocking. How many years until we can vote her out of office? I think that office needs a clean sweep, rid it of all signs of infection, and start over again with a whole new crop of attorneys.

Raise your hand if this surprises you... anybody? No?

So Green, who has trumpeted his vast public and private opportunities comes crawling back to beg for a job within days? Didnt he vow not to ask for a job from Sandy? So now, out of pity, and at taxpayer expense, Sandy pushes a desk into the boiler room and lets Mike sit there and collect a big pay check. What a tax payer rip-off. why do the taxpayers of monroe county have to support a man that was found unfit for federal government service? Dont the personal issues that disqualified him from that job disqualify him from working for monroe county? Are our standards lower than those in washington?
